Our Process
Overview
Our secure process ensures that every piece of paper makes it through our state of the art shredder and baler with an extreme amount of safety. All of our employees are trained to the fullest extent to handle sensitive materials, and everything from beginning to end is transferred in a secure environment. This includes locked bins, consoles, trucks, and our high security facilities which have multiple surveillance cameras. Once the confidential materials have been destroyed, they are baled and recycled into more paper. For more detailed information on our processes, please read the descriptions and view the pictures below.
Secure Shredding Process
When a customer is in need of destroying confidential information, they can either drop off their paper at our shredding facility or have one of our service technician’s pick it up for them in our locked truck. When the material is brought into our secure shredding facility, it is entered into the system, and the documents are taken to our secure shredding area to be destroyed. For clients that need a regular scheduled pick-up, we suggest utilizing our secure shredding bins and consoles that can be loaded into our tipper and put through the shredder easily.
Recycling Process
After the confidential documents have been destroyed, the shredded material falls into our baler which compact’s it into large blocks of recyclable material. These bales are stored in our shredding facility until there is enough material to fill a semi. The material is then taken to a paper manufacturing plant and made into more paper. In doing so, every client that supplies us with confidential materials helps contribute to our green effort. Each semi of recycled material taken from our facility saves more than 1,000 trees. The Shred Center saves approximately 24,000 trees every year from the paper recycled throughout the Chautauqua County region.
